Holladay Properties' Ameriplex at Elm Hill, Building A, has received LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The designation makes Ameriplex at Elm Hill the first multi-tenant industrial building to meet LEED standards in Tennessee, according to the developer. "Practicing sustainable design and responsible building techniques is an important part of our company philosophy and the right approach for our community," said Tom Gibson, senior vice president and partner of Holladay Properties. "Our LEED design decisions were based upon return-on-investment analysis. Our tenants benefit from these investment decisions in the form of lower occupancy costs and a healthier working environment offered at Ameriplex."
Ameriplex at Elm Hill, Building A, in Nashville has earned LEED certification. It is the first multi-tenant industrial facility in Tennessee to receive the designation.
Holladay recently secured National Recovery Technologies (NRT) as the facility's newest tenant. The recycling-equipment manufacturer and engineering company will occupy the remaining 20,000 square feet of the 90,000-square-foot Building A. "The fact that Ameriplex is LEED certified was an important factor in making the decision for our new home," said NRT's Ed Sommer, president/CEO. "As a company that works directly in the environmental industry, it is critical that our facility reflects our business principles, and Ameriplex at Elm Hill is a perfect match for us." NRT will join international logistics services provider DHL, Lennox Hearth Products and Holladay Properties in Building A. Green Benefits The LEED-designed features at Ameriplex at Elm Hill include a reflective roof, day and dimmable lighting, solar lights, rainwater-capture irrigation and energy-efficient HVAC. Such features reduce the facility energy consumption and lower each tenant's total occupancy costs, according to Holladay Properties. A second LEED-designed building is under construction, scheduled to be complete this summer. Classic Party Rentals has signed on to occupy 52,000 square feet of the 135,000-square-foot facility. The remaining space is available for lease. Aside from Ameriplex's initial two buildings, the site also includes 7 acres that are available for further development. When all phases of the complex are complete, the facility will accommodate over 300,000 square feet of office warehouse industrial space, according to the developer.
