P&G will display the tracking of inventory cases throughout the supply chain right to the store shelf. The goal is improved visibility may reduce out-of-stocks, shrinkage and supply chain costs while improving promotion execution and new product introductions. To do this they are using True VUE RFID Networking Platform, from Vue Technology, a Lake Forest, Calif. based company.

"As we work with our customers to demonstrate practical, current applications such as improving promotion execution and new product introductions, we also take the opportunity to demonstrate other potential uses of the technology to improve supply network efficiencies and retail availability in-store," said Milan Turk, Jr., director of P&G's Electronic Product Code (EPC) efforts with customers.

P&G is pursuing an "EPC Advantaged" strategy that focuses on the benefits that EPC can deliver by improving promotion execution and new item introductions. The strategy also provides a framework for prioritizing products which will be among the first to be tagged at case and pallet level.

"Procter & Gamble truly sets the bar when it comes to identifying and implementing innovative retail solutions," said Robert Locke, CEO of Vue Technology.
