BorgWarner Opens Factory in Poland

Will be producing four models of turbochargers for Fiat

U.S.-based car parts maker BorgWarner on Jan. 28 opened the doors of a new factory near Mielec, southeast Poland, slated to take on 100 employees.

"Our first client is the Fiat Auto factory in Bielsko-Biala (southwest Poland)," BorgWarner spokeswoman Malgorzata Poczatek said. "We'll be producing four models of turbochargers for their diesel motors."

The investment in the Mielec factory is worth 50 million zlotys (US$ 5 million).

With factories in 17 countries around the globe and over 17,000 employees, BorgWarner is an auto parts supplier to global car makers Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Fiat, Renault and Toyota.
