Sukhoi Announces Order for 24 Superjets

Plane is less expensive than Embraer and Bombardier

Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi said on June 16 it had received a firm order from Uzbekistan-based leasing company Avialeasing worth $715 million for 24 regional Superjet aircraft.

The announcement came on the second day of the biennial Paris Air Show here.

The Superjet 100 is marketed as cheaper than its rivals, Brazil's Embraer and Canada's Bombardier, with a catalogue price of $28 million.
