Will make Shenyang in China the world's largest production base

Michelin plans to spend $300 million to expand its tire production center in China into the world's largest tire manufacturing base, state media said March 30.

The French auto parts company has signed a memorandum with the provincial government of Liaoning in northeast China covering new truck tire and sedan tire projects, the Xinhua news agency said.

When the two projects are implemented, the company's existing base in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning, will become the world's largest tire production base, according to Xinhua.
