Analysys International, a Bejing-based business information company, predicts that China's RFID market will grow 33.2% in 2006. In its report titled "Consumer Electronics -- Focus Report on China's RFID Market 2005," Analysis reports that primarily manufacturing companies are using RFID to addresses issues including security, forgery and cost reduction.

The growth of this market can be attributed to government support and promotions according to the study. The government has a program of second-generation ID cards which use RFID technology.

"Price, performance, protocol, policy, pioneer and privacy will be key factors to determine the penetration and coverage of RFID applications in China," says Chen Haiying, an analyst of Analysys.
