At the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) 2005 conference held recently in Dalls, UGS, of Plano,Texas, announced a new product Teamcenter that extends the value of product lifecycle management (PLM) to MRO. It does this by providing service teams insight as to what a product's configuration should be and what maintenance operations, resources and materials are necessary to maintain its effective operation.

"As our customers increasingly compete on performance based logistics contracts, they constantly need to focus on accurate, up-to-date engineering, logistics and configuration data to feed maintenance planning and analysis tasks," said Andrew Mitchell, director of MRO business and development for UGS.

With information provided by Teamcenter, service crews can improve performance while maintenance units can optimize asset up-time and reduce turnaround time.
