Obama Announces New Rules to Fight Carbon Pollution

Stating that we have a “moral obligation to leave our children a planet that’s not polluted or damaged,” the Obama administration today announced a Clean Power Plan that will lower carbon pollution from U.S. power plants by 32% by 2030. The final target is 9% stricter than the proposed ruled, but provides more time and more flexibility for states to comply with new emissions limits.
