Top 10 Transportation Companies in the IW US 500 [SLIDESHOW]

Transportation-related companies, which represent the automotive, aerospace and rail industries, make up 8% of the IW US 500 list, yet generate 13% of the total revenue.

This year's IndustryWeek U.S. 500, which annually provides IW readers with insight on the 500 largest public manufacturing companies based in the United States, is fueled by companies in the business of moving.

These transportation-related companies, which represent the automotive, aerospace and rail industries, make up 8% of the list, yet generate 13% of the total revenue.

Four companies, led by fifth-ranked General Motors Co., are among the top 25 on the list. And transportation companies experienced an average 6.4% growth in revenue in 2012, with total revenue reaching $788 billion.
