In the U.S. and Europe, the college class of 2005 is pretty confident about finding full-time jobs but far less certain those jobs will meet their expectations.
According to an Accenture survey of 1,600 recent or soon-to-be college and university graduates in the U.S., UK, France, Germany and Spain who weren't working full time, 59% expected to have a full-time job within six months. Only 20% anticipated their job searches would take more than a year.
However, only 37% said the jobs they expected to land would actually be what they were after. U.S. (53%) and German (47%) graduates were the most optimistic about finding jobs that would meet their expectations. Just 36% of UK graduates, 27% of French graduates and 21% of Spanish graduates expected their jobs would measure up.
