Mitsui Seiki's High Performance Machining Center Model HU100A-5XL is numerically controlled with all standard equipment Automatic Tool Changer, and high performance capability for milling, drilling, boring, tapping & reaming.

Mitsui Seiki will be bringing its HU100A-5XL machining center to IMTS 2012 to showcase three of the qualities that have defined the company: machine rigidity, stiffness and high accuracy.

Armed with an X,Y,Z workzone capacity of 2,000 mm by 1,750 mm by 1,400 mm and accommodating a weight of up to 11,000 pounds, the HU100UA-5XL machine will demonstrate the key functionality required for aerospace, power generation, refrigeration and compressor, mode and die, and off-road equipment industries.

The machine features a set of standard modular components that can be arranged to suite specific customer needs in these industries. This allows users to choose axis travels ranging from 1,300 mm to 2,500 mm on four through six axes of continuous motion with a choice of a rotary table, trunnion table or table-on-table along with a host of spindle and component choices.

To supplement these features, the HU100A-5XL also boasts a maximum torque of 2,000 foot-pounds, a CAT-50 tool taper, an automatic workpiece/fixture measuring and compensation system, 3D tool compensation, and Fanuc 30iM control, among others.

According to Mitsui Seiki, the high accuracy and ultra rigidity demonstrated by this machine stems from the company's attention to basic structure, 3D FEM design, hand scraping of all castings for geometry and frequency tuning, plus hardened and ground steel box ways. All critical components, it notes, are designed, manufactured and quality-controlled in-house.
