Artificial intelligence (AI) remains the buzz word in business, despite signs that some companies have had enough with the hype. At Fabtech 2025, AI-driven machinery and software were everywhere, but that's nothing new in manufacturing.

Tech-saavy manufacturers have been using machine learning and other AI systems for decades to optimize operations and boost performance. Still, opportunities abound. The latest wave of innovations deal more with back-office functions, and Bryan Graiff with consulting and accounting firm Armanino, says companies can gain new efficiencies, if they approach things strategically.
