Britain's Manufacturing Output Rises in July

Production gain of 4.9% was highest in 16 years

For a third month running, British manufacturing output rose in July, official data showed on Sept. 8.

Output climbed by 0.3% compared with June, the Office for National Statistics said. The rise was in-line with analysts' consensus forecast. Manufacturing production meanwhile climbed by 4.9% in July compared with the level one year earlier. The gain was the highest level for almost 16 years, although analysts had expected a slightly bigger increase of 5%.
