The European aircraft maker Airbus said Oct. 4 it delivered 271 jets in the first nine months of 2005, up from 224 units a year earlier. Airbus said last month it expects to deliver 360 to 370 planes in full-year 2005, more than 400 in 2006, and "significantly" in excess of that figure in 2007. The company, based in Toulouse, France, is a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co (EADS). It is 80% percent owned by EADS and 20% by BAE Systems of Britain.
