China Industrial Output Growth Eases to 12.8%

Down from 15.7% last year

In August growth in China's industrial output slowed to 12.8%, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Sept. 12.

In the first eight months of the year, industrial output expanded 15.7% from the same period in 2007, the bureau said.

The figures showed a continuing decline after industrial output eased to 14.7% in July from 16% growth in June.

Industrial output expanded by 17.5% in August of last year, according to previously published data.
