Toyota holds largest market share

Indonesian new vehicle sales jumped 59% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month to 60,836 units in July, the Indonesian Car Assembler Association said August 13.

New vehicle sales rose nearly 50% to 353,501 from January to July, against 235,702 in the same time a year ago.

Vehicles made by Japan's Toyota Motor Corp. in cooperation with PT Astra International garnered the largest market share, at 34% in July.

The introduction of new models helped the industry shake off the effect of higher interest rates since May, analysts said.
