After an increase of 2.3% in February, Spanish industrial ouput rose by 1.7% in March on a 12-month comparison , the official statistics institute INE reported on May 5.

In the first three months of the year, industrial output rose by 2.6 % from the equivalent figure last year.

In the whole of 2005, industrial production had increased by 0.6% from the figure for 2004, when output had risen by 1.7%.
