There's no clear pattern of U.S. manufacturers and producers in other developed nations bringing the jobs they once sent offshore back home.

But some companies are having second thoughts about keeping those jobs overseas as they experience problems with quality, employee turnover, language and cultural issues, says the Herman Group, a Greensboro, N.C.-based management consulting firm.

"Customer complaints are now joined by employee complaints in the host countries," it relates. "Increasing challenges are pushing employers to slow the flow of jobs overseas and to begin bringing jobs back for efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction."
