French Industrial Production Stable

October saw production rise in the transportation industry by 1.9%, including a 2.5% rise in automobile production.

After suffering a 2.1% drop in September, French industrial production was stable in October, the INSEE statistics institute said on Dec.9

In the August-October period, industrial production fell 0.6% in comparison with output in the three preceding months, INSEE said.

Manufacturing production, excluding mining and construction, was stable in October.

October saw production rise in the transportation industry by 1.9%, including a 2.5% rise in automobile production.

Production fell in industries including lumber, paper and printing, down 3.5%, in chemicals, down 2.2%, and in textiles and leather products, down 2.2%.
