The Conference Board's index of leading economic indicators for France fell a tenth of a percentage point in September, the most recent month for which data are available. The index now stands at 106.2 (1990=100).

Despite the decline, the leading index for France has continued to increase at an annual rate of about 1% in recent months, the New York-based business research group notes. France's GDP has been growing at a 2.8% annual rate in recent months, and the leading index "suggests that economic growth will continue to be moderate in the near term," says the Conference Board.
