British manufacturing output was unchanged in September from the previous month, official data showed on Nov. 6. The Office for National Statistics said that manufacturing output, which excludes energy and mineral extraction, was unchanged in September from August, confounding analysts' forecasts of a 0.2% increase.
The result also marked the first month since April that manufacturing output did not register an increase.
On a 12-month basis, manufacturing output, which accounts for 14.7% of overall economic activity, was 2% higher in September.
Industrial production, which includes manufacturing output as well as mining, quarrying and utilities, rose by 0.2% in September from August. On a year-on-year basis, industrial output -- accounting for 18.5% of British gross domestic product -- rose 0.5% in September.
