With an increase in the production of transport equipment helping the sector recover some of the previous month's falls, Britain's manufacturing output rose 0.3% in October.
The increase year-on-year was also 0.3% according to an official release from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Meanwhile, the wider industrial production measure rose 0.4% in October from September, the ONS said. On a year-on-year basis, industrial production was 1% higher.
Manufacturing output accounts for about 15% of British gross domestic product, while the wider industrial production accounts for just under 19%.
