Both personal income and spending in the U.S. increased three-tenths of a percent in November, the U.S. Commerce Department reported on Dec. 22. The increase in personal income matched most economists' predictions; personal spending was a tenth of a percentage point below the four-tenths increase that economists expected.

November's rise in personal income was less than the half-percent increased recorded in October.

The increase in personal spending in November was one-tenth of a percent higher than October's two-tenths percent.
