Supply Chain Carbon Coalition to Hold Inaugural Meeting in Brussels

Feb. 11, 2009
Nestle, Johnson Controls, Toyota and Vestas will be participating

eyefortransport is hosting the inaugural discussions of the Supply Chain Carbon Coalition Steering Committee in Brussels on March 17th, 2009. Participants in this pioneering discussion include supply chain executives from Asda/Wal-Mart, Nestle, Johnson Controls, Toyota, Vestas, Cognis and more.

The Supply Chain Carbon Coalition is a voluntary association of the world's leading manufacturers, retailers, logistics companies, freight forwarders, 3PLs, suppliers, government representatives, academics and other relevant parties. Its purpose is to help companies move forward with green supply chain initiatives with the confidence that there are consistent industry standards that can be communicated to partners, suppliers and customers.

The ultimate goal of the Coalition is to write and endorse the Supply Chain Carbon Coalition Pact, a declaration that will clearly codify a higher standard for corporate environmental ethics and transparency. The Pact will declare that all members (a) affirm an unequivocal dedication to corporate environmental responsibility and (b) play an instrumental role in restoring and growing investor confidence in environmentally sustainable businesses and markets worldwide.

The inaugural meeting will take place as part of the 2nd Sustainable Supply Chain Summit in Brussels on March 17-18 2009. For information visit
