One of the Largest Solar Panel Manufacturing Plants to be Built in California

OptiSolar Inc. received economic incentives to build plant at McClellan Park in Sacramento County.

OptiSolar, Inc. headquartered in Hayward, Calif. is taking advantage of the $20 million incentive offered by the County of Sacramento to located its 600,000 square foot solar plant in McClellan Park which is an industrial party once home to an Air Force Base.

The photo-voltaic panel plant will generated $26 million in taxes according to a report in the Sacramento Bee. The deal, lasting 25 years, rebates the company 50% of its electricity user tax and 80% of future property tax increases.

The plant will include solar module manufacturing equipment, glass preparation facilities, , the assembly of solar panels and related office and infrastructure operations.

OptiSolar manufactures photovoltaic (PV) modules and produces power from its own large-scale solar farms. The company has projects in five locations in Canada which provides 150 megawatts in capacity.
