Siemens Sees $21 Billion Worth of Orders for 2010-2012

June 22, 2009
More than 40% of orders are for 'green' technologies

Siemens said on June 22 that it expects around 15 billion euros (US$21 billion) in orders worldwide between 2010-2012 thanks to government economic stimulus plans.

Roughly 40% of that figure would concern environmental or "green" technologies, the company said.

Such activities, which range from the production of low-consumption light bulbs to wind turbines, accounted for about 19 billion euros in Siemens' 2007/2008 fiscal year.

In 2011, orders of environment-related products are forecast to climb to 25 billion euros, Siemens said.
