Nissan's Green Product Development

Automaker gains global ISO 14001 certification.

Nissan's product development process has a history with ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. The Japanese automaker received its first such certification for product development processes back in 1998. However, its scope was limited to its domestic operations in Japan.

Ten years later that certification is now international. Nissan reports that in March its product development process -- both domestic and global operations -- has received ISO 14001 certification.
