Product/market moves from Electronic Arts, Dell and Qualcomm.

In an effort to boost sales, Electronic Arts Inc., a U.S. based video-game producer, has recruited Steven Spielberg to help create three games. Spielberg will assist in writing story lines and help design graphics according to an Oct. 15, 2005, statement by Electronic Arts. This is a move by Electronic Arts to expand beyond its primary market of sports games.

Wanting a specific date on the conversion from analog to digital television, Dell Inc., Qualcomm Inc. and 29 other companies called on the House and Senate Commerce Committees to move forward. On Oct. 14, 2005, every member of Congress received a letter signed by the CEOs saying that, "The completion of the DTV transition will free up spectrum that will provide tremendous opportunities to promote growth in the U.S. economy. We encourage you to pass legislation that would complete the transition at the earliest possible date, but in no event later than January 1, 2009." The letter also estimated that 1.2 million jobs that will result from extending broadband access to all Americans.
