Vietnam To Become WTO's 150th Member

Accession is set for Jan. 11 of next year.

On Dec 12, Vietnam notified that World Trade Organization (WTO) that it had ratified its membership agreement. Vietnam is slated to become the international trade group's 150th member as of Jan. 11, 2007.

In Vietnam's accession documents are commitments on trade in goods, including tariffs, quotas, and ceilings on agricultural subsidies; a 60-page document on trade in services; and a 260-page report describing Vietnam's legal and institutional provisions for trade.
