Incidence rates of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses in the manufacturing sector were up slightly in 2008.

In October The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its incidence rates of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses for 2007. Overall private industry reported 4.2 incidents per 100 employees for the year, down from 4.4 cases per 100 employees the previous year. The manufacturing sector reported rates slightly higher. Here's how the industry fared per 100 employees:
