With optimism abounding, 95% of the Tech CEOs surveyed for Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 CEO Survey, are planning to grow their workforce. Forty-two percent indicate plans to add at least 25% more employees in the next 12 months, while 19% have plans to add more than 50%.

"Tech CEOs are focused on facilitating that growth by improving internal operations and hiring and retaining talent, rather than on external issues, such as economic conditions and geopolitical instability," said Tony Kern, a principal with Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Finding, hiring and retaining the high-quality employees is one of the biggest operational challenges according to 27% of those surveyed. But it's worth the search as 25% of the CEO's credit these employees as making the largest contribution to the success of the organization.
