Most CFOs (94%) polled by executive search firm Robert Half International Inc., Menlo Park, Ca., said their companies should invest in ongoing education for employees, but 57% of the same respondents said their companies don't have formal training programs. The U.S.-based poll surveyed 1,400 CFOs from a random sample of companies with more than 20 employees. Respondents considered seminars the most effective form of education, followed by computer-based training, in-house classroom-style training, tuition reimbursement, and mentoring programs. Robert Half specializes in accounting, finance, and information technology.
