The use of child labor, primarily in the apparel industry, brought howls of outrage in the U.S. last year--and a voluntary code of conduct against the practice. Globally, the issue wont go away. The Geneva-based International Labour Organization (ILO) reported industrys exploitation of youngsters--an estimated 250 million--is on the increase. The problem will likely be the worst in Africa, where, the ILO predicts, the child labor force will rise 25% to 100 million by 2015.
