Compiled ByDeborah Austin To keep customers' global-trade education up to par despite corporate travel cutbacks, cargo-shipping company Emery Forwarding has formed a new business group offering international trade and compliance seminars online. The new group -- Managed Learning Services, part of Emery's Managed Trade Services Group -- offers one-and-a-half-hour online seminars on subjects from North American Free Trade Agreement to import procedures, taught by a network of trade consultants, customs attorneys and former customs personnel. Seminar participants can log on to see pertinent documents, dialing into a conference call for the audio portion. Registration forms are downloadable from the Customs Brokerage section of www.emeryworld.com. Emery previously had offered in-person seminars in various cities, but customers' business-travel restrictions prompted the switch to online learning programs. Emery Forwarding is part of Menlo Worldwide, Redwood City, Calif.
