Company is the only manufacturer to receive the award this year

Honeywell has been selected to receive the prestigious 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for its Federal Manufacturing & Technologies. The award is the nation's highest honor for innovation and performance excellence.

Honeywell FM&T manages and operates the National Nuclear Security Administration facilities in Kansas City, Mo. Albuquerque, N.M. under contract for the Department of Energy.

Honeywell FM&T was the only manufacturing organization to receive the award.

"We use the Baldrige criteria to show our commitment to the customer as we continue to integrate the Honeywell Operating System for continuous improvement and validate the Management Assurance System we use to run our business. The Honeywell Operating System helped us raise our manufacturing, quality and purchased product delivery performance while reducing the cost of operations," said Tony Brancato, President, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technologies.

Each year, companies and organizations striving for excellence pursue the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award as a measure of their efforts and continuously improve their quality and productivity. Companies are examined in seven categories: leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; measurement, analysis, and improvement of organization performance; workforce focus; process management; and results.
