S&C Electric Expands Manufacturing Capacity for Smart Grid, Renewable Energy
S&C Electric Co., a provider of smart grid solutions and renewable energy integration, announced on March 5 a major expansion of its engineering and production facilities in Franklin, Wisc.
This facility supports the company's power quality products, which include energy storage integration solutions, reactive compensation systems applied at renewable energy plants and uninterruptible power supplies for mission critical power users.
The expansion, which will double S&C's manufacturing capacity for these products, is expected to open on August 1st.
"As the grid becomes increasingly complex, S&C's power quality solutions are vital to allow renewable energy plants to comply with interconnection requirements as well as to enable utilities to manage intermittency issues associated with renewables," says Jim Sember, S&C vice president--Power Quality Products.
