Tenneco Gains $65 Million in Japanese Business

Demand from BRIC nations fuel growth

Auto components manufacturer Tenneco Inc. won contracts worth $65 million in 2008 to provide Japanese original-equipment manufacturers with parts for new vehicles scheduled to launch between 2009 and 2011, the company said March 9.

Approximately 60% of the business is related to demand in Asia, Russia and Brazil, also known as the BRIC countries. About 65% of the business will be focused on smaller-sized vehicles.

The Lake Forest, Ill., manufacturer reported $200 million in new business with Japanese OEMs in 2007.

The new business supplies 13 different vehicle platforms launching in nine different countries.
