Nordic countries have the most linked-up economies this year, with Sweden taking the lead of the Global Information Technology report ranking, the World Economic Forum said on March 25.

Sweden displaced Denmark to rank first on the chart, while Denmark slid to third place. Other Nordic countries were also in the top 10, with Finland in sixth place and Norway in tenth.

Singapore crept closer to the top, moving up from fourth place last year to second place now.

Fellow Asian economy Hong Kong was in eighth place, also gaining from 12th place a year ago.

The Networked Readiness Index looks at how prepared countries are in using information communications technologies by measuring the general environment for the technologies, the readiness of individuals to use them as well as their actual usage.
