Top Manufacturing Brands by State: Part 2 [SLIDESHOW]

May 29, 2014
"The Corporate States of America," a U.S. map depicting each state's most archetypal corporate brand, is guaranteed to ignite debate.

Mental Floss recently republished a intriguing infographic called "The Corporate States of America." Created a couple years ago by designer Steve Lovelace, the graphic is a U.S. map that depicts each state's most archetypal corporate brand. It's a highly subjective list and thus a surefire argument-starter.

Manufacturing is far and away the No. 1 industry sector populating "The Corporate States of America." Twenty-six of the states' top brands are owned by manufacturing companies. Restaurants and retail are tied for No. 2, representing eight states each.

This gallery, the second of two installments, shows 13 of the 26 states whose top brands are owned by manufacturers. The first half of the list appeared last week.
