Chrysler's U.S. sales plummeted by 53% in December.
For 2008 sales dropped 30% to fewer than 1.5 million vehicles, the struggling company said on Jan. 5.
The results are significantly worse than the 30% to 37% monthly losses posted by rivals Ford, GM and Toyota and came days after the U.S. Treasury finalized a four billion dollar loan to the cash-strapped carmaker to help it weather the current financial crisis.
