IndustryWeek's New 2016 Conference Tackles 21st Century Transformation

May 5, 2015
The IndustryWeek Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo, to be held May 3-5, 2016 in Rosemont, Ill., will help guide manufacturing executives through this unprecedented era of technology convergence.

As the manufacturing landscape is quickly transforming with 3-D printing, advanced robotics and big data, manufacturers are seeking to embrace and benefit from these new technologies.

Companies are also welcoming a new era of integrated supply chains, open research platforms and, perhaps most importantly, a new generation of tech-savvy workers.

With all of these changes, IndustryWeek is announcing an event -- the Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo to be held May 3-5, 2016 in Rosemont, Ill., that will help guide manufacturing managers through this unprecedented era of change and provides them the powerful ideas they need to move their businesses forward.

The Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo builds on the successful IndustryWeek Best Plants Conference, with its strong legacy of honoring outstanding manufacturing plants and introducing attendees to their lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques and programs. The conference will continue to feature the IndustryWeek Best Plants awards program, now in its 25th year, and to highlight best practices in operational leadership, workforce development and continuous improvement.

The new Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo fuses that focus on outstanding people and processes with exhibits and conference sessions that identify the stunning new technologies being introduced into the manufacturing sector and the business opportunities they present. The expanded show will introduce new awards designed to recognize industry leaders and companies that are redefining manufacturing with innovative technologies and products.

“Manufacturing is undergoing a new industrial revolution,” IndustryWeek’s Editor-in-Chief Patricia Panchak said. “We’re going to host an expanded event that not only elicits the ‘gee whiz’ excitement of this transformation, but also conveys the best practices that will help manufacturers integrate the technologies into their current and continuously improving operations.”

Highlighting the new event will be an improved and larger expo area, where exhibitors will be able to showcase the exciting products and services that are altering the face of manufacturing. Exhibits will present information and demonstrations of technologies from advanced materials and simulation software to additive manufacturing and predictive maintenance. Exhibits will provide information on every aspect of running a successful and profitable factory, from automation to IT to safety and training.

“IndustryWeek is dedicated to advancing the business of manufacturing,” IndustryWeek’s Vice President Jacquie Niemiec said. “We’re excited to showcase in the Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo a new platform for manufacturing leaders and suppliers to share insights from thought leaders, field-tested best practices and advanced technologies. It’s truly smart manufacturing and a smart investment.”
