Automotive Sector Will Push RFID Forward

The total North American RFID market for manufacturing and logistics generated $74.8 million in 2005, according to Dublin-based Research and Markets. The market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 19.6% over the forecast period to reach revenues of $261.8 million in 2012.

The automotive and industrial vertical segment markets account for the highest percent of market revenues with 39% and 37% during 2005.

The U.S. accounted for 57.3% of the revenues in North America.
