XTL Transport Inc. was recently awarded the 2008 SCL Green Supply Chain Award. Issued by the Supply Chain and Logistics Association Canada (SCL), the award recognizes companies who demonstrate strong environmental leadership and a firm commitment to promoting green transportation standards.

A high percentage of XTL's tractor engines meet the latest emissions standards. In addition, the company's fleet renewal program ensures that the average age of equipment is less than two years and no tractor is more than four years old. Most of its fleet is equipped with auxiliary power units that virtually eliminate the need to idle engines. XTL has also implemented a driver training program to increase efficiency and achieve maximum fuel economy.

XTL Transport is a truckload provider servicing many industries such as consumer commodities, grocery, retail, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, packaging, and pulp and paper in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and parts of the United States.

As part of the Government of Canada's environmental agenda, Transport Canada also supports industry efforts through its ecoFREIGHT initiatives, which are aimed at reducing environmental and health impacts of freight transportation through the use of technology.
