Robert F. Bruner will lead the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business into its 50th anniversary year, which begins in September. A member of the university faculty since 1982 and an acknowledged expert on mergers and acquisitions, Bruner has a one-year appointment as the school's dean.

He replaces Robert S. Harris, who stepped down as dean on July 29 after four years in the job.

On Bruner's agenda is the launch this year of the Darden's School's first Executive M.B.A. program.
