On September 18, manufacturing executives, industry thought-leaders and high tech market insiders will gather in New York City for a one-day event dedicated to U.S. manufacturing. Their mission: to collect best practices and strategies top companies are employing to take advantage of the U.S. manufacturing resurgence.

"Our objective is to drive the conversation about what’s happening with America’s manufacturing landscape," noted Helmuth Ludwig, CEO of Siemens Industry, North America (IW 1000/35), which is sponsoring the event along with IndustryWeek.  "Industry is experiencing a transformation. The manufacturing plant of tomorrow is here today, where optimization of the entire design and production process is done through automation and software."

This week, Dr. Ludwig met up with IW's Editor-in-Chief, Pat Panchak, to discuss these changes to the industrial landscape and how the Manufacturing in America event is framing them as the driving market advantage for advanced manufacturing in the U.S.

The resulting conversation is available here as a special edition of the monthly IW podcast. Listen in to hear what is happening in the industry today and some of the tips Manufacturing in America's exclusive panel of speakers will offer its New York attendees.
