Familiar and not-so-familiar makers of batteries, pet products, diapers, flooring and laundry detergent made this year's list.

Manufacturers of big-ticket items like automobiles and airplanes come to mind as the phenomenal profit-makers of U.S. manufacturing. But believe it or not, makers of everyday products like diapers, window cleaner, toothpaste and pet-care items rank up there with the best of them.
