Manufacturers Hope Chinese Spy Balloons Don't Use All The Helium

Helium in its gaseous and liquid forms is essential for several billion-dollar industries and once it's gone, it's gone.

The U.S. military has in the past nine days shot down four objects flying over our territory, one of which was owned by the Chinese government. They claim it was used for meteorological research. The U.S. government hasn't disclosed the nature of the other three objects shot down by American fighter planes. And IndustyWeek editors got to thinking, we hope those other three weren't also balloons because that's an awful waste of helium that some of our readers need.
