The latest release of SAP Supply Chain Management from SAP includes enhanced functionality for supplier collaboration which enables suppliers to create Web-based invoices. Enhanced capabilities for outsourced manufacturing is designed to improve supply network inventory and work order collaboration. Enhanced labor management functionality helps improve the productivity of the warehouse workforce with reporting capabilities. New features with the planning module include capacity reservations which help shorten delivery times to strategic customers.

RapidResponse for Demand Management service from Kinaxis Inc. provides visibility across fulfillment networks. It is designed to enable demand management and fulfillment staff to more effectively respond to unexpected demand and supply allocation changes. Exception-based alerts to projected misalignments in demand and supply enable users to realign supply and/or engage manufacturing operations to best satisfy customers and meet revenue and margin goals.

JDA Software Group has released JDA Fleet Management 7.4.1, a transportation and logistics management software application powered by Manugistics. The solution is designed to provide integrated enterprise transportation planning, asset management, route optimization and master delivery schedule creation. The addition of ESRI's geographic information system (GIS) provides accurate distance calculation and travel path analysis to create optimized routes across an entire distribution network.

RedPrairie Routing Portal from RedPrairie Corp. is a Web-based solution for coordinating inbound shipments and reverse logistics. The software enables personnel throughout an enterprise to manage transport delivery requests and coordinate dock scheduling with carriers. Features include validation, location profiles, alerts and automated communications to and from inbound suppliers. Customer or stock returns can be managed as well. The solution supports both inbound shipment routing requests for consignee-controlled freight, and advance ship notices on vendor-prepaid inbounds.

Oracle Corp. has integrated its Oracle Transportation Management into its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne sales order management, procurement and financial management applications with the intent of delivering a complete fulfillment execution system. Users will gain better collaboration with suppliers, service providers, carriers and customers throughout purchasing, logistics and financial operations. This integration accommodates multiple modes of transportation, including full truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), parcel and complex multi-leg air, ocean and rail shipments.

Flow Management from Manhattan Associates is a cross-suite solution that enables companies to synchronize all aspects of product distribution, from forecasting and inventory planning to allocation and distribution. Flow Management is part of the Manhattan SCOPE portfolio of supply chain optimization solutions and is designed to ensure that distribution decisions are optimized and aligned with real-time demand, supply and inventory strategies. It enables companies to sense real-time changes to demand, supply and inventory strategies and ensures that inventory is routed to the most profitable location in the network. Companies are able to align data, processes and resources against a common set of business objectives.

The LogicNet Plus 6.0 XE network design and planning solution from ILOG features a scenario simulator that automates scenario comparisons so that users can see the business impact of changes in their supply chain before they deploy them. It enables simultaneous network design and production sourcing or asset planning optimization, taking into account seasonality and inventory requirements over time. The solution enables analysis of the tradeoffs between production, warehousing, transportation costs and service requirements as well as calculation of the optimal network configuration for different cost and service objectives.
