Market Watch For July 2008: Material Demand

Aug. 6, 2008
Carbon black and PVC both show increases, while copper again turns toward higher prices.

According to the 2008 ISM Manufacturing Report on Business (ROB) released on Aug. 1, not one commodity went down in price in July. However, almost 30 went up as the list continues to add new materials like carbon black, PVC and paperboard. Copper's dip in June was short-lived, while many of last month's newcomers, including acrylics, electricity and plastic, seem to have leveled off for the time being.
