Hitachi GST Names New Procurement Head

Former Seagate and Maxtor exec to lead company's worldwide supply chain management and procurement.

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies announced on Sept. 17 that David Beaver has been named as the company's new senior vice president of worldwide supply chain management and chief procurement officer (CPO). In this role, Beaver will have global responsibility for all aspects of purchasing and supply chain operations for the data storage technology manufacturer.

Beaver brings more than 25 years of executive management experience to Hitachi GST. Previously senior vice president of corporate supply chain management at Seagate Technology, he also served as senior vice president and CPO for Maxtor Corp. He will be based at Hitachi's San Jose, Calif., headquarters.

"We are pleased to have David join the Hitachi executive team," said Hiroaki Nakanishi, CEO if Hitachi GST. "His proven industry expertise will accelerate our business turnaround efforts as we focus on further streamlining our worldwide supply chain operations."
